WOW.... Amazing tone right out of the box. Now that I put coated ambassadors, Evans Genera Dry, and Evans eq3, these babies sing. The bearing edges which are 60 degrees are a vintage idea, which applies very nicely to any genres. This is NOT a kit only used for rock. Tuned high for jazz, these drums were just fabulous. The reason it gets 4.5 for the features is that it didn't come with the clamp for the suspended tom. Absolutely get this, since the ocean blue finish is as great as the tone of these babies. Very subtle but graceful wood grains can be seen under the lights. All in all, get this kit while it's on sale or you'll regret it.
