This drum set is the best drum set I've ever played inmy life. This drum set does not come with cymbals but does come with REMO drumheads which have the best tone. This drum set is definitely is worth the money and good for anyone.

I don't get why but a lot of drum SETS come don't come with any cymbals!! But anyway this set is really good paint chips on the snare but i have a replacement snare from my other drum set. I put a sabian B8 rock crash on the straight stand and every time i hit the cymbal the stand moves around (not because i bang on it hard) it's really lightweighted. at least the bass drum and toms sound decent. i gotta say for the money it's a must. u might wanna buy good quality cymbals to put on these stand and maybe a book to keep the straight stand from falling. If you add good cymbals and more drums and a double bass and put a pillow in the bass drum then u got ur self a great drum set. BUY IT!
This is a great drumset

I just got this set in the mail yesterday. It's an amazing set, especially for the price. It's quite a value because it even comes with Remo heads instead of stock ones, and believe me, those Remo heads sound AWESOME. You should just slap some Moongels on them to control the overtones and they'll sound perfect. The hardware isn't the best, but it holds up well. If you are starting out drumming, get this set. You'll love it. I would even recommend this to some very experienced drummers. Buy this drumset, you won't be disappointed.

First off, a warning, the lugs on this set are NOT standard size, and your standard size drum keys will NOT fit them.
That being said, if you buy this set, don't do what I did (trying many different improvised tools) and look for a long, narrow box that has the bass drum screws in it - ddrum includes a special drum key for the kit, but it can be hard to find.
Also, no directions of any kind came with this set. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but the aforementioned drum key issue could have been solved more quickly with a set of directions.
Once I got it put together, all the drums sounded really quite nice - especially the bass drum. The extra large size of the bass and the fact that it doesn't have the toms mounted into it really help the sound.
I'm not completely sold on the tom mounting brackets, as they make the large tom rattle a little bit when I hit it really hard (there is a sort of shock absorbing feature I wish it didn't have).
The rest of the hardware seems very sturdy, I've had no problems with it.
One more word of caution though - the bottom head on the snare drum came unusable (obviously a manufacturing defect, not damaged in shipping) and the flaw (part of the skin coming off the ring, causing a very large ripple in one side) was not caught in ddrum's quality control. That's why I'm giving this product a lower quality score than most, because the quality control is poor, not the overall quality of the instrument.
it's alright

this set was the first set i owned. it's pretty good for a beginners. but if you're a serious musician you will notice the quality of this set is not exactly up to par. i broke the straight cymbal stand at a show last week. the cymbal mount just snapped completely off but that could be because hit too hard. the snare just plain sucks. it doesn't matter how high you tune it, it still sounds way too low. the good points of this set are the toms and bass drum. they are super loud and have a great tone. well i hope this helps someone out with purchasing their new set.
