This is the brightest cymbal i've ever played and my normal setup is paiste alphas, so that's really saying something. It's my main crash now, I really enjoy the sound and its very versatile. That being said, this is not a crash for metal. Well suited for classic rock and jazz.

I went to a local music retailer expecting to buy an 18 inch Crash, I walked out with this thing... Let me just say this, A Zildlian Z3 18 inch rock crash was for sale at that store, I hit the ZHT and then I hit the Z3... they were almost alike, the only difference was that the Z3 had a longer Decay time... Amazing, the sound the same but the ZHT is half the price of the Z3! There is no better cymbal for the price. The ZHT has a glossy, shimmmering tone but doesn't sound cheap or overly tinny with that annoying ringing overtone. Simply Amazing...

I got this crash as part of a pack, which came as a 18". And this was the best budget crash I have ever used. Defined, bright, amazing overall. I used it as my main crash and it was just my most favorite cymbal. But, I do not recommend this for heavy hitters as I cracked mine about 1 inch from the edge within a month. For anyone else, this crash sounds WAY more than what it costs.

Worth buying.

The 15" sounds nice. It's very bright, and it opens up nicely. It has a sort of shimmery sound to it. If you are looking for a thin weight crash, this might be the one.
