my drum teacher has these hats and they are incredible.they can be very dry with that really defined "chick" or you can play something really wide open and almost crash like alot of rage songs do

I have the 13's and gig with them regularly playing traditional and modern jazz. Less regularly, I use them live for rock, funk, and blues. They have a that unique, and great combination of smokey jazz and higher pitch "chick" as advertised. Less volume than 14", but slightly higher pitch - you pick. Either way, they're great. I'm gonna' use these forever, and now will shop for the 14's just to have a little more cutting volume. Very versitile, great Zil. quality. Would highly recommend.

Me and my dad are both drummers and he had had these for years and I always wanted a pair, I finally got a pair for christmas. For most drumset elements, there's always the next step up, or something better-not when you buy these, they are absolutely beautiful hi hats with a gorgeous quality and a nice clean chick sound. Combined with a decent hi hat stand, there's nothing better.

I just recently bought the 13" K/Z hihats. These hihats are so crisp and have a very clean response. The only regret I have was buying the 13" instead of the 14" but i'll keep these forever.

I've owned this hi hat in the 13" for 5 years now and I've never had any problems. It has a nice dark closed hi hat soun along with a dark open hi hat sound. But when you play in half open it cuts through b/c of the Z on the bottom. The mixture of dark and raw is amazing. If you can't find any hi hats the fit your style, these can do just about anything.
