Zildian's K crash cymbals are complex and sweet with tons of expressive possibilities. Dark and warm with a strong high end. The cymbal won't overpower the kit but gives the rest of your sound a smooth wash.

A new ride is like a whole new personality for your playing.

I've played and owned MANY, MANY crashes over the years and the 16" K Dark Thin is my all-time favorite. I generally like thinner cymbals (except for my ride and bottom hi-hat) and even though I play various styles of music, this crash never lets me down. The quality of this cymbal is VERY consistent considering it's a hammered cymbal. I broke one after about 6 years (hey, it IS thin, and it IS my main crash) and the one I replaced it with is very, very close in sound. I give it a four in value because of the price -- i don't think Ks should cost THAT much more than any of Zildjian's other crashes. But, I'll pay what I have to for it. I also wouldn't be too afraid of cracking this cymbal because its thinner size allows for more "give." It does, however, bend and become kind of china-ish sounding. So be careful when hitting the edge. You really can't go wrong!

i bought a 19" used off another site for way cheap. i even saw a clip of the exact cymbal i was buying. however, now that it's arrived, it lacks the fullbodiness i expected, and every time i crash it, the edges wobble quite visibly, which is a little scary for me. this was quite a letdown

Incredible Crash

This is an INCREDIBLE Crash, and it is my favorite of all-time!! Even though it is expensive, it is still a really good value. I have the 18" Dark Thin K and it really sounds perfect. The only reason I did not give it a 5 on Features is the Bell, it's kind of bleh. Still though, buy this Crash! The Bell on the Zildjian K Rides however are perfect. I might even be getting the 17" soon. Anyways, if you need a reliable, full sounding musical Crash, buy this one!! It works for all types of music, the Dark side of it fits any hardcore rock or even Metal, but it is a perfectly made Jazz cymbal as well. Thx a bundle Zildjian :D

I have the 14" and it has great attack (almost like a splash depending on how its played). I would suggest that you play soft-medium as they are thin. I like to push it sometimes to get that beautiful "maxed-out" shimmer sound out of it... however I mainly play this cymbal with the knowledge that it is thin and will break if I hit it too hard. I have had it for 2 years and there are no cracks or keyholing. Very musical cymbal and needs a musical drummer to be fully appreciated. Check it out at your local music store to see what everyone means.

This is hands down the best cymbal I have ever owned, it is endlessly versatile. I have played this crash everywhere from the bar to church and it always performs just how I want it to. With every other cymbal in my set-up I have alternatives e.g. a deep ride and a thin ride, heavy hats and light hats, etc. This is my main crash and there is no other crash I would even think of putting in its main spot. I alway ask myself, "If this cymbal broke or was stolen, what would I replace it with" the answer to this question is the true test of wether you have a great cymbal or not, my answer for this cymbal is I would relpace it with the exact same cymbal no question!!! I did get my crash in brilliant finish because I dig how that looks and all my other cymbals are brilliant, it still sounds darker than my other cymbals, it is a very complex cymbal. If you are looking for a main cymbal that can rock when you need to rock and can mellow out when you are looking for sophisticated, this baby is for you.
