The perfect ride

After searching endlessly, I had all but given up hope... until I found this ride. It had everything I was looking for; low wash, great stick articulation, and an overall low tone. It contrasts great with high wash rides. I will not be getting rid of it anytime soon.

maybe the best cymbal ever?

This thing is killer... If I were playing with a jazz combo it would be my only cymbal in a small setup. you can ride, and crash the thing. It is very earth and dry tons of complex tones but they decay quickly and never compete with stick articulation. Best as a jazz cymbal and very unique as a 2nd or 3rd ride in a rock setup... most will find it not loud enough however for rock.

Its like riding a crash cymbal.

Based on previous reviews and sound bytes, I thought this cymbal would be what I was looking for. However, it is EXTREMLY washy (it's like using a crash as a ride) When they say DRY they mean DRY. Nothing bright or clean about this cymbal. If this is the sound you're looking for, this cymbal would be great. I think it would work better as a crash, because the crash it makes is awsome. Deep, dry, washy. But as a ride its hard to get it to cut thourgh anything because of all the ringing wash. Might work well with acoustic Jazz.

K kustom dry light review

This cymbal is one of the BEST cymbals i have ever had the pleasure of owning. It has an in between sound of the classic Constantinople "tah" and a K Ride "ping", with a leniency towards the "tah". It does not overpower anything at all, and does not build up with wash when swinging at like 280 300 bpm. Besides my hats, this is the only other cymbal i use when lpaying with my jazz combo. I don't need anything else. It rides, it crashes, it's just a joy to play on.

Perfect for Jazz

I bought this cymbal as a second ride, to compliment my 20 inch K ride, and it's perfect. It's dark, dry and has a "gongy" crash sound, especially when struck softly across the face of the cymbal. While not loud enough for rock, it's a perfect acoustic jazz cymbal. After 20 years, I've now got two ride cymbals I'm likely to stick with for a long time to come.
