These are BEAUTIFULLY toned. The chick is bright and could be a little lighter, but I am 100% satified anyway. The semi-open sound is incredible, it's so nice and washy, no sound of cymbals clanging together.

Of course they're a little overpriced but I would still buy these again anyday.

These hats are really great to play with! They are really dark and funky but sound great in any style. I have had these for about 5 years now and at first didnt really care for the sound but they really grew on me! Beginners may not care for them at first. I play with the bottom on the top and they sound heavy and really cut through! If you have the money they are an awesome set to have

14" Pair: These are a huge improvement over the Zildjian 'starter' cymbals (read "pressed"). These have a nice warm, dark tone with great overtones. I am inclined to play these as a ride some times for an extra accent. Sizzles are just nice, and will cut through when needed or can be quite mellow if played lightly, just get the bottom cymbal's tilt correct. There is none of that pingy sound here. Chicks are defined. There is a usable bell. These will last a lifetime. Finish is lovely. They are heavy so will need some extra spring adjustment to the stand.

I have had these hi hats for well over 5 years now and they have not let me down once! These cymbals are durable and sound good playing any type of music. I suggest that if you are looking a for an awsome pair of hi hats to go buy this!

I bought these hats recently, the 14", and they blew me away. There perfect for funk and jazz, but I play in a hard rock band, and they sound exactly how I want them to there too. The only reason I gave them a 4 for value was because they're so expensive! But still, it was worth it?
