this cymbal is a ton of money but it works so well it is worth it. you can get a beautiful crash sound that is very loud but not piercing. as a ride it also has a good ping with the perfect amount of ring to it. the bell is cutting and has a great tone. buy this cymbal if you can you won't be dissapointed.

I have always had an interest in the Zildjian K Crash Ride as I play larger cymbals and usually play rides as crashes soo when my band was playing a show and my drum tech brought his 22" K Crash Ride I was very keen on using it. I used it as my main ride for the show and it sounded amazing! It felt balanced and controlled but still opened right up with a dark but smooth crash sound and could be played at any volume level.

Also I thought the stick definition was great for a "crash ride".

I highly recommend it! This would also play great with a 24" K Light Ride.

I've owned both the 21" and 22" models for over half of a year. Waited until now to post an accurate description of my personal experience with these cymbals.

They are very versatile depending on how you play them. The bells sound sweet too. The brilliant finish give them a warm shimmer as they decay.

Where they really excel is playing loud rock music. Since they are so big and explosive , you have to pick good spots to crash them because they take up so much space musically. They would be perfectly suited for some slow fuzzy sabbath riffs.

I also use 16" K light hi-hats and a 24" K light ride with the 2 crash/rides. They all sound amazing together.

If you're used to using crashes that are 18" and smaller. These cymbals will take some getting used to. They are beastly. Beware.

I have tried this 21" crash ride at my local store and in the end I really liked it. The crashability of this cymbal is dark, and when I kept hit the cymbal harder.. it still had a nice dark and warm sound. The ping of this cymbal reminds me of the 21" Sweet Ride at times and the bell is quite good.. IMO get this cymbal if you'd like to crash ride and have the warm dark sound of a K.. I think it'd be nice to match it up with a Zildjian 21" A Sweet Ride on your kit..

This is an excellent cymbal. I bought the 21" and use it as my primary ride cymbal. Although it is mainly used as a crash, its still maintains that dry K zildjian stick definition. It is pretty washy, but it will fade away when you play music. Great for any type of modern rock. I've even used it to play jazz! Great cymbal.
