14 Inches

Soft, delicate, and subtle without being mushy. Unique, ultra warm, and dark sound, ideal for acoustic jazz and studio work. Though "chick" sound is very dry and warm, it is full-bodied with plenty of presence. Developed in conjunction with the maestro, Elvin Jones.

This ended my search for a great hi-hat!

I wanted a cymbal with sweetness, richness, and warmth, clarity but not clanging... and the Constantinople hi-hat was the answer for me. To make it affordable, I bought a Constantinople top to go with the Zildjian Mastersound A Custom hi-hat bottom I already had (both 14"). With some gaffer's tape on the Mastersound bottom cymbal to subdue some brightness, I am getting the best hi-hat sound I have heard for a long time. I can't think of anything better. Also, with the hats open, I can ride on the hi-hat to give me a rich sound to complement my K Custom Hybrid and Bosphorus ride cymbals.

The most expensive hats. The best sound. Most musical in every respect. I've played them all & these are my faves, but buying cymbals is like buying a tie - it's all personal taste. Only downside - they are harder to clean/shine than other top line cymbals. Go figure. Go get some from musiciansfriend.com.

Despite the high price, the Constantinople hi-hats offer a lush, crisp sound, unimpaired by those bothersome metallic clanks. These are the most consistant pairs on the market and offer a clean "chkt" sound every step of the way. They are great for any category of music, and are worthy of their high price.

I am a huge fan of old vintage drums of yester year and I have been searching for a pair of hi hats to complement my unique style and playing interests, something that is hard to come by in modern sounding cymbals. I have finally found that in the K constantinople hi hats. I dont like a lot of overtones on any of my cymbals, if that sounds like you this is your new hi hat. They have a dry sizzle and low "chick" but they still have plenty of warmth. If you have been looking to add old school sound to your modern band, this hi hat is definately for you. The price is a little high, but i cant say they isnt worth every penny, cause they are. I have heard these in action a couple of times and have had the chance to play on them. I dont make my living from my music though so i cant afford to have the best in purcussion, but I intend to purchase a pair in the near future.

These hi-hats are the best thing available if you're looking for long sustain and a cutting chick. Don't say that price is an issue, these hi-hats will improve your sound 100 fold.
