This is a really nice washy ride. The rivets add a controlled sizzle/sustain that lasts a bit then fades fairly quickly. It doesn't sizzle on forever unless crashed hard, and that can be a nice accent at times. Not a lot of stick definition/attack when riding, more of a smooth wash. Just a touch of edge wobble. The engraved signature and "Beautiful Baby" markings are nice to look at, too. Paired with a 20" K Custom Dry Ride, this makes the ultimate left-side jazz ride. Zildjian first-ever "signature model" cymbal, that's got to tell you something right there. If you play swing or jazz, get one, you won't regret it.

I have played this cymbal for 3 years now. I love it. I use it as a crash actually more than a ride. It is a bit pricy, however it adds a nice deminsion to your set up.

I use this at my private lessons as a ride, and boy, I find myself using this WAAAAY too much! I'm absolutely in love with it! But it's a little too pricey for me. If you use this as a crash, it's GREAT. If I were to have it, I'd have it as my main crash, and take my other Paiste PST5 and place it next to my Ride, and I'd just jam all day like that.

I recently went to the TMEA convention and hit the floor of the booths quickly. The Zildjian booth did not contain many cymbals but they had this ride cymbal titled the "Beautiful Baby" with three rivets perfectly placed on it. The dealer approached me with a drumstick to let me test it, and I did, and I bought it instantly. I am a grindcore and metal drummer, but never forgot my roots of fusion and jazz. If you are looking for a wonderfull cymbal that will distinctly and uniquely give your set a new and beautiful shimmering sound, I recommend this cymbal.

I just purchased the Armand Zildjian 19" ride cymbal and absolutely love it. It is a very "musical" ride cymbal. The sizzles add some nice sustain and body when you are riding it. It has a bright tone and a nice clear bell sound. And when you give it a good crash... it has a pleasantly aggressive explosive power. I would classify this as a "crash-ride" cymbal. This is custom made for jazz and big band, but would be great for most any musical situation. This is one really musically expressive cymbal.
