The Zildjian A Custom splash delivers a fast, colorful, short crash sound. Very musical! Nice splash

These splashs are very musical. I have a 10 and 12 and I just ordered a 6. Splash cymbals are nice because you don't always want a loud crash, sometimes it sounds a lot better to have a quick splash in quiter sections of music where you want an accent. The different sizes will determine how big that accent is. I had the 10 for a long time and aside from some cosmetic issues, it's still solid and can take a beating. If you crack one of these, that probably means you aren't playing/mounting it right. What's nice about the smaller cymbals is that you can mount them inverted on other cymbals to save space or if you don't have another stand, just make sure to use felts. The 12" sounds more like a small crash than the others.

Amazing, but just one problem...

I purchased the 10" a few days before a gig, and I was amazed by the sound.Has a nice higher pitched crisp sound with a fast decay. Great for lighter fills or hitting during a beat. However, shortly after receiving it, I noticed that one area of the cymbal was slight bent downwards. This isn't a big deal, as it still sounds amazing, but I'm just disappointed at either the lack of care while transporting, or manufacturing.

Still, a very nice cymbal at a reasonable price.

I love my 8 in splash. It's perfect for a quick little burst with fast decay, but it isn't very loud (of course it is a splash not a crash) and it has started cracking from the center (due to heavier playing than it is meant for). Overall it's been good to me even when I wasn't good to it.

I've played nothing but Zildjian cymbals for years but I've never had a splash. I bought the 8 inch to add to my kit just for fun and the first time I hit it on stage the entire band turned around and smiled! This is a great little addition that's a lot of fun! Plus...it's a Zildjian!
