These hats are very nice, with plenty of volume open or closed. Very clean sounding, versatile cymbals. I would like to try some K hats and compare them to these when I can afford to, perhaps use them both, one set on each side. If you can afford K cymbals, get those, if not, these will work, not as tonally complex as the K series, but still very good.

GREAT BUY FOR TOURING/STUDIO DRUMMER

I just bought these 2 weeks ago from this site and I have a few things I've learned about them. The first is right when I got them out of the box the finish was absolutely astonishing. The second thing I noticed was how well the craftmanship was, after playing with them for hours I had decided these hats kicked some serius "pzazz" into my 4 piece set up with z custom crashes. I've played 3 shows with them and they can deffinately take the pounding I ensue on them during a show and they still shimmer bright..they're quite pricey but deffinately worth the money to any drummer who wants to sound incredible on stage or in the studio

BUY THESE HI HATS!

I bought these hats about 3 years ago, and they just sound better and better with age. Very loud, and very clear, clean "chick". When played loose you get the ultimate rock sound. Will compliment any cymbals you own, and will become your favorite. Best part is the durablity, which is vital in cymbal choice.

The Best Hats Out There
Posted by Tom West from Plano, TX on Jan 13, 2009
Experience w/product: I have used it

These Mastersounds are no doubt, the greatest sounding hi-hats I have ever played, and I keep coming back to them. I've played the Paiste 2002 Sound-Edge's, Zildjian K Custom Hybrid, Sabian AAX's, and even the HHXcelerator hats, and NONE of those have the crisp, striking sound, not to mention look, of these hi-hats.

What amazes me the most is how versatile these are. I'm mainly into Metal/Hardcore, but I play Classic Rock, Alternative, Jazz, etc, and these had their advantages that were applied to each genre! They have the extremely loud chick, the sloshy open sound, and the perfect riding sound for metal, the versatility of the loud chick for classic rock, and are surprisingly bright enough to support the best jazz situations. They're just incredible.

The only other hi-hats that could compare would have to be the 15" Mastersound Pitch Blacks, but those are sheet instead of cast; hardly a difference though.

All in all, these are perfect all around, and are the most beautiful hi-hats out there, especially in the 15". I plan to purchase these as soon as possible, and I know these will be the last hats I purchase for a LONG time.

There's a reason these have been top rated on all websites and stores, and not to mention by drummers alike, for the past 5+ years. Buy a pair and find out for yourself.

i recently bought the 15" pair and they sound great. theyre really loud even when played closed, due to the way the bottom cmybal is shaped with the rivets or whatever you want to call them. this also prevents you from getting that really boring, flat sound that some hi hats give when theyre closed fully. a little pricey, but theyre worth it
