This exclusive Limited Edition DTXREME IIIS kit combines the drum rack and the drum and cymbal pads from the DTXtreme IIS kit with the upgraded DTXTREME IIIS module.

Yamaha created the DTXTREME IIS Electronic Drum Set by parlaying their time-tested technology research with advanced drum manufacturing. This features 6 great-feeling drum pads and three cymbal pads, and a curved rack system. Soft, 3-zone rubber pads offer players the ultimate in performance comfort, natural feel, and rebound. Each pad includes an assignable controller for pitch, voice selection, or other parameters, while the snare pads can also assign strainer control. The hi-hat controller combines a real drum stand with an electronic pad for a traditional look and feel.

Coming from a long and illustrious line of Yamaha electronic drum kits, the DTXTREME IIIS module features a brand new brain that's based upon 'Motif' AWM2 sounds.

The DTXTREME III has an outstanding sampling capability (with optional memory installed) and a powerful sequencing engine. With USB MIDI on board, the DTXTREME III is not only a standout stand-alone instrument, it can function as the front-end of a complete music production system embracing live performance, rhythm training, music creation and studio recording.

The DTXTREME's preset kits and voices are just the beginning. You also have full WAV/AIFF sampling capability that lets you store your own sounds and compile your own kits, and a MIDI sequencer to drive new beats.

Yamaha DTXTREME IIISP Special Electronic Drum Set Features:

  • 3-zone soft rubber pads for snare and toms
  • Hi-hat controller with real hi-hat stand
  • Multi-zone round cymbal pads (3-zone, 2-zone and mono)

my bass drum trigger broke

First off, its not like yamaha to make something that breaks, but my kick drum trigger has completely failed, the sensor is fine but something behind the rubber broke, so now the sensor isnt picking up the hits. Its like it got to soft, theres something behind the rubber that failed. I've owned the previous model kick trigger, and that one never failed, and from what I know, the new trigger is basically the same thing, it just matches the rest of the kit in size and look. I also bought the floor model at the store, maybe some idiot beat the crap out of it and broke it. I just sent the kick back to yamaha, they'll fully repair it for nothing, but now I have to wait. I also use double kick, maybe that did it, I'll never know.

I had never thought about electronic drums other than as a toy. This set truly comes a long way. We had a set at a Christian Worship Arts conference and I played them off and on for 3 days. Wow, if I didn't already have two sets of drums I would already have them... maybe sell a boat or a car... I will make room. Jack B.

Finally able to Practice at home!

After so much research on E-kits. I chose this kit (Dtxtreme 3SP) over a used Roland td-20. I have the kit with the new metal rack and extra pads. Being able to just play a kit without being distracted by the feel of the bass pedal or flimsy cymbals was amazing. I tried this kit out at a number of stores and found it at first not to be so impressive. I later learned that is was just a matter me of finding one out that it had been properly set up. After 5 minutes of just playing a Jazz riff I knew this kit was it. The play along songs and cymbal sounds are amazing. This kit is the tool I have been searching for to be able to practice at home when I can not get to my acoustic kit. Don't be pressured into Roland by sales people pick an E kit by it's main features, like it's songs and sounds (out of the box). The pads feel great and I picked them over mesh because I did not want to have to change the way I play as I switched between the acoustic kit and this one.

After growing tired of using my friends drum set, I decided I needed one of my own. But, seeing living in a small townhouse isnt very good for the 6 piece I wanted I settled for this. I never regreted my decision to go electric. Ive loved it since the moment I saw it. The only thing I had to ajust to is using an electric kit. Otherwise its the best starting kit anyone could ever have.

I just bought this kit on 7-19-2008. After getting over my skepticism of electronic kits, I decided that the pros outweigh the cons. I travel alot playing music, so I needed something that would hold up. This kit is everything you would want and more. I play some small venue and some large venues and having the volume control is awesome. You will need to decide how you're going to monitor yourself (I personally don't see the Yamaha personal monitors being worth the price to me). Recording is great as you contol the EQ from the module. The pads feel better than acoustic heads and the cymbals are very responsive. I just don't know if it's worth another grand to say you have the "Special Edition" and the other perks (ie bigger bass drum, special rack, and updated module)
