Any drummer that is called to play diverse styles of music, live or in the studio, should carry one of these in his gig bag. When you are in a playing situation that requires more tone than attack this is the beater you need. Don't be misled by the size of the beater. It is about the same weight as hard felt and lighter than solid wood.

i dont think that any beater could possibly be as horrible as this one. They are EXTREMELY heavy and you dont have much control
