I got this snare about 2 months ago. I waited to break it in before writing a review. I LOVE this snare. It is a great versitle all around drum. I like to crank the factory head down tight. It has a solid "POP", good for just about any setting. I really dig the wrap, super cool! Get one!

When I got this, I was amazed as how much better it sounded than the other snares at its level. I had been looking for something like the Pearl Firecracker that had a loud crack when you hit it and little to no ringing. This drum is that and more. Even wih the factory head, tuned right, there is a nice, loud, focused crack that cuts through the rest of the music. There is no ring whatsover, unless you tun it down to get it that way, so in other words, it has a large variety of snares. The wrap around it is great, there are no bubbles or marks, the lugs hold the hoops very nicely, and the die cast hoops provide for more consistent tuning and incredible rimshots. Lastly, is the snare throw off. This is not your typical lever style throw off, but a hinge that is incredibly easy to turn on and off, but tight enough to avoid it from coming undone when your playing. Overall, if you are looking for a snare with a wide tuning range and high quality, look no further!
