i just got myself a new set of Starclassic Performer BB Dark Mocha Fade Shells. I figured I am already in the poorhouse so I might as well order the snare to go with the set. Everything, and I mean everything about this drum is first class, I will not repeat all of the praise that has already been bestowed on these beauties. Let me just say that the sound is as sharp as a German Scalpel, and clean as the air near the top of the Rockies. If you got the cash, most defintly pick one of these up, but don't forget to do your homework when shopping around. Good luck!

I got this snare last December in Cherry Fade. For starters, it looks downright gorgeous, especially with the abalone inlay. All hardware is excellent quality; I especially like the strainers. In my opinion, this snare was quite dificult to tune, as I had a very hard time getting a feel and tone that I both liked. As far as sound goes is its very good, but keep in mind its not flashy at all. If you're looking for a snare with a lot of crack and pop, look elsewhere. For warm and smooth tones, though, this snare is excellent. Just be sure to swap out the Evans head for something different.

I'm in a band who plays at parties and clubs. I have 7 snares...one is a rogers power-tone. This snare is tied with that Rogers. this snare is so powerful. I use a Pacific Drums FXR 4-piece in Tobacco fade and with this maple snare, it sounds even better. i love the strainers on both sides of the drum. It may seem a bit expensive, but theres no subsitute for quality. The Die Cast hoops are amazing. Cross-sticking is the best with this snare. I changed the head the minute i got it...ya its an evans head, but its still a stock head. I have no complaints about this snare. If you want quality, get this snare drum.

I just integrated this snare into my Starclassic kit and I can't rave enough about it. It took a little primping and careful tuning along with a texture coated Aquarian head, but this is everything I had hoped it would be. I now use my expensive DW snare as a backup to this awesome snare. It also looks just as incredible as it sounds! Kudos Tama!

I have played a lot of snares ranging from maple to birch to mohagony! I have never played or even heard a snare(when tuned right)that sounds better than this! If you are looking for a pro level snare that sounds amazing, and looks awesome, this is it!
