This Tama Imperialstar 8-Piece Double-Bass Drum Set comes complete with drums, hardware, and a full set of cymbals. i got this kit little over two months now and just started finding that certain feel to em. Definitely have to replace heads, and cymbals aren't to fond of only for their lower quality and lack of attack and sustain. But otherwise this beast turns heads and definitely bangs 'em when ya get em goin. Save the dough and git'r done!

This drum set is huge. Thats its main selling point. The 100% poplar shells are alot like birch in sound and attack but they have little projection and a bit less tonation. This can be aided into better sound projection and a minor tweak on the tonal quality by using tung oil on the interior plys of the shells. If using just tung oil I would recommend 3 to 5 coats for each drum or if you get one of the tung oil/varnesh mixes do 1 to 3 coats. But honestly I personnally feel its much better to get a smaller birch or maple set and expand upon it rather than buy a big set that you will end up wanting to replace later.

Listen, you are not gonna find a better kit in this price range, period. Tama has set the stadard in every genre, every type of wood, every price range...hands down. These bad boys are made of poplar wood, and sound really close to maple, except 1/3 the price. If you are a beginner, or a pro, I highly recommend Tama Imperialstars. I own the 8-piece Midnight Mist kit, and love the look and almost see God everytime i play 'em. Do yourself a favor and get this kit...you WILL NOT be sorry.
