The Roland TD-12SV Electronic Drum Set offers mesh V-Pads all the way around. The TD-12 module is an upgrade from the previous TD-8, sharing the same stunning sound quality as the flagship Roland TD-20. This electronic drum set is loaded with over 500 percussion sounds and 262 backing instruments to deliver the flexibility you need. Roland incorporates the VH-11 natural-feel floating hi-hat (mounts on optional stand). An ultra-realistic feel comes courtesy of features like snare/cymbal interval control that changes sound based on the speed of your strokes. The snare pad has been enlarged from 8" to 10", and features positional sensing. The Roland MDS-12BK Drum Stand has advanced gripping clamps on the pipes and conceals cables.

TD-12 Percussion Sound Module
With the same stunning sound quality as the flagship TD-20, the TD-12 drum module provides hundreds of expressive instruments and play-along sequences. Many of the sounds are COSM-modeled for the ultimate in expression and realism. It has the same large, icon-based LCD as the TD-20, and is housed in a roadworthy metallic black chassis with a user-friendly array of buttons, controls, and mix sliders. 12 trigger inputs are provided, plus 4 audio outputs and MIDI I/O.

VH-11 V-Hi-Hat
The innovative new VH-11 floating hi-hat is comprised of one floating cymbal pad atop a fixed lower base. It feels like a regular 2-piece hi-hat and mounts on conventional hi-hat stands (not included).

PD-85 and PD-105 V-Pads
The 8" and 10" dual-zone V-Pads feature the latest dual-triggering technology, resulting in more consistent and accurate sensing between the head and rim. Built tank-tough and ready to take a pounding.

KD-85 V-Kick Trigger Pad
The solid, great-feeling mesh kick pad has improved pad cushioning, and can accommodate double bass pedals. Torture-tested for quality assurance, it has the stamina and stability to handle the toughest poundings.

MDS-12 Drum Stand
Mount your V-Drums in style and with stability. Featuring Roland's sturdiest grip clamps, this rock-solid rack lets you play with confidence knowing that your pads will remain locked in position. Cables can be concealed inside the pipes. Open-leg design makes hi-hat placement more convenient, and the wide design lets you easily expand your kit. When it comes to electronic kit, you really do have to spend a pretty penny if you want to get something good [insert arguments here]. But anyway, I have to say that the Roland TD-12 kits are fantastic. They're extremely responsive and capture all your dynamics and playing nuances. From soft taps to the hardest hits, you can expect your playing to be faithfully recreated. Of course, if you don't want that, you can also tweak it to your requirements. The drums feel great and are quiet enough that nobody is going to complain. I must say that the tom pads can be quite bouncy, which isn't all too realistic when compared to acoustic kits. But I find it makes playing easier, so I'm not complaining at all. Cymbals are also great. Playing is picked up well and the 3-zone pads are great. Everything is built solid. The module offers some decent usable sounds and might suit you just fine, but I prefer to connect to a computer and use drum sampling software, like Superior 2.0. Overall I have to say this is a fantastic kit, and really don't see how anyone could justify paying double this price for a TD-20. Only criticism I can say is that I wish the floor tom pad was larger like the 10" snare.

I was bored after rehearsals one day and decided to start playing this kit. I'm a keyboard player who looks at drums on the Internet and this is one of my favorite sets. When I first played this kit I was amazed by the feel and quality of this kit. It's only got pd-85's though. Oh well! I can always just expand it. I hope it can fit in a college dorm!!!!!
