Natural, Left-facing

The Schalloch Cajon can add color to your acoustic gigs with exotic bass, tom and snare tones. The cajon, (box in Spanish) which is traditionally used in Cuban and Peruvian folk music, has lately been gaining acceptance in the world music community for just this kind of versatility.

Schalloch's cajon has a front playing surface made of 4/5"-thick Asian ash that produces warm bass tones and sharp slaps. Tension screws allow you to adjust the face for varied slap sounds. The main cajon body is made of Siam oak which creates a strong shell with good projection. The strong rubber feet keep your cajon off the floor for freer shell resonance and also serve to keep the drum from sliding as you play.

Schalloch Cajon Features:

  • 4/5" Asian ash playing surface
  • Tension screws for adjusting slap tones
  • Siam oak wood body
  • Rubber feet to enhance resonance and prevent sliding

A good ingredient to add flavor to your music.

I picked up one of these about a year ago to add a little flavor to my arsenal of drum-stuff, and today I'm using this cajon in more stuff than anything else. It doesn't matter if I'm playing with artists doing Django Rheinhart, Native American Flute, or playing for belly dancers at the local Middle Eastern Restaurant, this handles it. The only thing that's a problem is adjusting "Snare Tension" requires a hex wrench, so making changes to the sound on the fly is right out.

I have been using this cajon for the past 3 months and honestly, it is great sounding, excelent highs and awsome lows, the ony thing is that it would help the quality if it were made of a thichker ply but you realy cant beat it for the price, if youre on a budget I recomend it.

bought one, it's pretty much junk. no bass, even with a expensive kick mic. but seriously spend an extra 60 bucks, unless you like unused instruments.

I have never played a cajon before but I have always made beats with my hands and this drum was so easy to learn and sounds good too. Playing hip-hop beats requires more base end and this can be accomplished by leaning the drum back and hitting with your palm. TIP: I think this cajon sounds better when the strings are tighter.

This, in my opinion, is the best cajon out there. I've played alot of different cajons, and this is my favorite. It features a great bass and snare sound. The only thing I dont understand is the price. It needs to be a lot more then how much there asking for. So I suggest that you buy it before they raise the price. If your thinking about buying one, don't think, just buy this one. It's awesome. There's no question about it, this is THE best cajon you could possibly buy.
