bought this after listening to some sound clips and getting offered a smoking deal that was too hard to refuse. this is not what I expected, there was a difference from the sabian sound clips, but in a very good way. its a washy as a ride so if your a dry kinda guy, pass on this one. the real beauty in this cymbal imo is thats is its the best crash-ride I've played to date even though its listed as a ride. it seems that CRs are either very good as a ride or a crash but not as both. as a crash, its absolutely thee best large crash Ive hit (20" and bigger) so if your into washier ride this is it and the crash qualities are a definite a bonus. listen to sound clips of Zoro playing this from the links at sabian. I've been a Paiste die hard nut for the last 4 years now, they are a brighter line of cymbals, even the drak energy line.ive been wanting to check out something darker so the HHX line is where i ended up and after trying out the Groove ride I'm wanting to try out the groove hats and maybe a few of the HHX crashes, Xtreme's sound good. HHXs like Zs are inconsistent from cymbal to cymbal two cymbals of the same name can sound very different so if you can listen to several you may find one thats above the rest in sound quality. they also come ina brilliant finish so that will also factor in a difference in pitch.

I bought this crash almost a year ago and barely use it because its way to loud for my style. I would only recommend this cymbal to people who love a good roaring ride. Not for me though.

I kinda regret buying the groove ride because its not good for the style. It does sound great. I would recommend this to jazz or soft rock muscians though. But it does act as a great crash to start off a slow song though.
