I am a student musician and bought these hats to replace no-name hats that came with my drumset. These hats sound very nice wen used for jazz (they have an excellent "chick" sound), but also sound good for loud rock. They are not quite up there with the Sabian HHX and the Zildjian K series, but they have an excellent sound for multiple play styles.

I have been the proud owner of the 14" aax stage hats for 3 years. (i use them a x-hats.) I also use zildijian new beats. THE AAX STAGE HAT CANNOT COMPARE.. They are still good dont get me wrong but they are not for using as your main hats.

I picked these AAX 14" stage hats out at a musc store at the same time that I bought my ride, a Zildjian sweet ride. These hihats were just what I was looking for; they match my new ride PERFECLY in my opinion. However, since all cymbals are unique, this combination will not work every time. These hihats have a great tone and definition. They sound amazing closed and hold their own when I wail on them. They sound great with my sweet ride and 16, 17, and 18" paiste dark energy crashes. I love these hihats!

I mostly use Zildjian cymbals but I have to use this pair since I could not rent any Zildjians at the time. I've been using it for about 3 months now and I like it, but not as much as I like the Zildjian Mastersound or K regular hats. It has pretty good chick to it and when I open up very slightly it give me pretty good sizzle. A few things I don't like about this pair is that it doesn't have a clean sound overall(crisp but not defined) and it gets a bit annoying to my ears if I open it up too much. However, it's a quality you'd expect from Sabian just not my playing style. I am looking to buy Zildjian A Mastersound and K regular hats for my playing. Cheers!

I have owned a set of 14"AAX Stage hats for a little over six years now and they are still going strong and with all the different styles and volume levels of music I play,these hats keep up..for anyone wanting a great set of hats they are well worth the money,invest..you will not be disappointed.
