Topped with a solid, raw bell, the versatile Sabian AA Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal delivers strong, dry stick articulation with a touch of tone at every volume.

The AA Raw-Bell Dry Ride is the latest cymbal from Sabian to tap into the bright, classic sounds of the award-winning cymbal company's traditional AA series. Topped by a raw, unlathed bell, this medium-heavy model is designed to deliver strong, dry stick articulation with a touch of tone at every volume. The raw bell responds with a bright, extremely solid note, while strokes across the bow area are consistently strong and cutting. A powerful cymbal by design, the Raw-Bell Dry Ride delivers solid sticking, but with a tonal quality that makes this a surprisingly musical and versatile 'dry' design.

Commented Sabian product specialist Mark Love: "The innovative Raw-Bell design proved so popular in our Hand Hammered series (it's the choice of Phil Collins, Jose Pasillas and Geoff Dugmore amongst many others) that there was a huge demand for the same model only with a brighter, more cutting sound. This AA version has traditional wide-blade lathing circling its solid, raw-bell, so wherever a stick lands the sound is always defined, powerful and clear on every stroke. The AA Raw-Bell Dry Ride has that power and definition to deliver a kick of energy."

The bright, traditional sound of AA offers a distinct contrast to the darker, traditional sound of the Hand Hammered series. Starting with B20 bronze multi-rolled and processed for maximum durability before being shaped to a high profile under 75 tons of hydraulic pressure and machine hammered for a tonal consistency, AA cymbals are energized, bright and musical. A versatile series with some very specialized models, AA is ideal for any music requiring bright tonal presence, power and cut.

The AA Raw-Bell Dry Ride is crafted from Sabian B20 'cast' bronze, the worlds most musical and durable cymbal metal. Available in Natural and Brilliant Finish, it is - like all AA cymbals - quality-protected by the Sabian One-Year Warranty.

I bought this ride over a year ago. It was a very sad day when I cracked it. My cymbal setup is very simple; hi-hats and a ride. For this reason I like to use a cymbal that works well as a crash and a ride. This cymbal is it. It really cuts through and sounds fantastic recorded. I'm buying a new one shortly.

I went to guitar center with the intent of buying a zildjian a custom ping ride....that changed as soon as tried out the rbdr. its stick definition and clarity make it cut thru any mix. the bell is as a loud as a zil bel. its also versatile. u can get so many different sounds and colors from this cymbal. hit the edge and u slowly build up a wash; hit the near the middle and get the definition and clarity u want. i feel that if u idolize prog rock gods like portnoy, peart, carey etc. this cymbal would serve u better than anything else out there.

A Great Buy

I have had this cymbal for maybe 6 months or so. I went from a Sabian B8 rock ride to this, and that was a big change. At first, it took me a little while to get used to, because this ride was a good bit darker than the B8. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked this as much, but then, I got used to it. It's a great cymbal! It has a good, solid crash that is dark and does not ring too long. It gives a good stick articulation, you can hear the stick response very well. I got this cymbal because of the review in Modern Drummer, and on here, and I am glad that I did. It's served me well in all of the applications I have applied it in.

Most versatile Ride

I am very picky about my cymbals and gear. I am a sabian only player, by choice. I have xs20 med. thin crashes and a chinese, AA regular hats from the 80's, a AAX splash, and NOW this ride cymbal. I play everything from old school swing style jazz, funk, prog rock, prog metal, death metal, classic metal, classic rock, ska, punk etc...this ride covers it all. Very defined stick clarity, each stroke can be heard, very controlled wash, and CLEAR bell ping. I play like (Carl Palmer, Mike Portnoy, Steve Jocz, Dave Weckl, Gene Krupa, etc...) aka (Asia/Emerson, LAke and PAlmer, Dream Theatre/Liquid Tension Experiment, Sum 41, Fusion Jazz, and old school Jazz.) Worth every penny and I will never buy another ride.

Let me preface this review by saying I am very picky about my equipment. I searched all over for a ride sound that had what I needed-- dry, cutting, with a great bell and great definition. This cymbal DELIVERS. Not only is it exactly what I needed, its the best ride I've ever played, from any company.
