The Roland CY-15R V-Cymbal Ride is a fifteen-inch electronic ride cymbal with the same movement as an acoustic ride. A selectable dual-trigger system (edge/bow or bow/bell) allows for use as a ride cymbal or a large crash cymbal. Better still, simultaneous 3-way sensing (edge/bow/bell) is possible using the V-Drums TD-10 sound module equipped with the latest version of TDW-1 Wave and System Expansion Board. With this board, the Roland CY-15R even provides positional sensing on the bow section of the cymbal, allowing for incremental tonal changes in the manner of an acoustic ride.

Roland CY-15R V-Cymbal Ride Features:

  • Fifteen-inch ride cymbal with realistic playing feel
  • Selectable dual-trigger system for use as a ride or large crash
  • Simultaneous triple sensing (using TD-10 Sound Module with TDW-1 with V-Cymbal Control)
  • Compatible with all Roland TD-Series/SPD-Series sound modules

The ride you can ride for the rest of the trip. With unlimited possibilities for collectible cymbal sounds. Put it in your cart today!

Roland makes the best e-cymbals - there isn't anything else that comes close. I have tried to go with cheaper cymbals, but have never found a product that can compare to the CY line from Roland. The CY-15R is as close to a real ride cymbal that you are going to find on the market. The weight, responsiveness and feel are so good that I can close my eyes and it is close enough to the real thing that I can sometimes forget that I am not playing a real metal cymbal. My only complaint is that the bell zone is not big enough. A physically largber bell would make this cymbal much more realistic and playable. Everything else is almost perfect - the triggering is flawless, the zones are well defined, the size is excellent - all around a great product. The only reason it doesn't get five stars overall is the price - it is very expensive. However, if you buy this thing, you will make the investment once, so overall, it is cheaper in the long run. For those who are not going to use a TD-12 or TD-20 percussion module, be aware that you are only going to get 2 zones by default. You can add the third zone by using a TMC-6 or pulling out one of your other triggers, but you will have to set it up for the single-zone vs. the coordinated 3-zone setup.

I have been playing the drums for over 20 years and have been playing e-drums for at least 10 and I can tell you that this e-cymbal is the BEST one I have ever played. I used the pads for awhile but due to the hard rubber I had problems, but now that I use the cy-15r and the cy-12's I will never use an acoustic cymbal set again. The quailty is fanastic and well-made. The only reason I did not give a 5 is due to the price. It can be out of reach for some players, but again when the time comes and you buy them, you will not be disappointed!

I find the inability to soften the crash-like sound of the cymbal annoying at times & wish there was a way to reposition the triggers on the instrument to suit my own tastes.
