The shells are made of basswood. The bass sounds really good. Nice deep thump & is a perfect match in sound to my ludwig accent set. The floor tom is amazing. Give it a nice hard whack & you get a thundering boom. The lugs and bolts are pretty standard, nothing special & appear to be of decent quality. You will definately want new heads. The ones that come with it are paper thin & won't hold up long. I put aquarians on mine. Not only do these drums sound great but the color matches my ludwig set perfectly. For this price you cannot go wrong

i got this last week and its amazing! i now have an 8 piece set, and the best thing is it was cheaper than buying a double pedal, and better than one! if you have the room for another bass drum, get this! quality is fine, exept one of the bass drum hoops were warped, so i cant put the front head one(like i need it!) and the floor tom is huge! 18 inches! a little tooo big, so im going to sell it, but over all one of the best investments in my set! why wouldnt you buy this?

I ordered these drums through the Scratch N' Dent sale, because the price was absolutely unbeatable. The drums came today, and I immediately set them up and played around on them. The kick drum sounds awesome; it has a nice fat tone, and there's a lot of power to it. The drums look good as well. The floor tom is rather large, and packs a lot of punch compared to the floor tom I had before this. All in all, this kit is very very good for the money. I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for an inexpensive addition to their kit.

I love the second bass, once tuned, it sounds great. Throw on an evans emad II and it really rocks. The floor tom sounds great, but watch when getting a new head for it, my remo's dont fit? Overall, well worth it.
