So I got this kit today after school. I was freakin' pumped. I assembled it and everything, tuned it, and I was blown away! This is my second kit ever and previous to this I was playing on a 4 piece CB kit... not cool. This is a great value, I love the satin stain and brushed chrome hardware, looks astounding. I haven't recorded with it yet, but I'm sure it will sound freakin' intense. This is a great intermediate/low pro level kit that will blow your mind away!

Since I haven't had it for to long, I can't really comment on the de-tuning issue, sorry about that.

I just got this kit and I must say it is absolutely amazing! Pork Pie makes some great drums. The bass drum is my favorite part because it is a 22x20 so it isa really deep and punchy sound. I love it! The toms sound really good (would sound better with new heads). The snare drum has a really nice dark and deep sound. Great kit for the money! 2 thumbs up Pork Pie!

Well, much like everyone else, my Little squealer has problems detuning. However, I've owned the kit for a little over six months now, and this hasn't created too much of a problem. Its usually just one lug on each drum that comes loose, which is a drag, but if you get lug locks or the like, problem solved. I talked to the guys at Pork Pie about this problem (much to dismay, it wasn't something "wrong" enough with the drum to get it replaced), and they said to get lug locks. Aside from this, the kit is pretty good. The floor tom sounds wonderful with a powerstroke 4 on it. Earth-shattering is how i would describe it. The Bass sounds pretty good with the stock powerstroke 3, but throw an EMAD on there and you'll be set. The snare is the best part of the kit, it really cuts but can also have a softer side, or a real fat sound. The rack tom can be a disappointment. While its fine for playing rock or hardcore music, its not so great for quieter music. It sounds fine tuned low, but tuning it high can be a disaster. Anyway, a great kit overall; looks great, sounds great, and is decent considering the price tag.

I bought this kit last year for a long awaited upgrade from my pearl export. It Totally blows that kit out of the water! I dig the extra two inches on the bass drum, and the toms have great low end sustain. I do agree with the other comments about the de-tuning problem though. I found the best way to eliminate this headache is to invest in an Evans Torque key. That tool is great. I use it everytime I practice and everything sounds consistently great! Overall, I think I will be content with this kit for years and I would reccomend Pork Pie drums to anyone looking for professional quality at a decent price.

I borrow this set every once in a while from my friend to play a show or something. This thing gets out of tune every five minutes. The price for this thing is outrageous, if your looking for a set for this price rangeget a mapex m birch, much better for the price. DO NOT BUY THIS SET, its not worth it.
