Wow is all i can really say for this snare. It looks and sounds great for a very reasonable price. I've had this snare for over a year and it has made it through many gigs...oh yeah and it sounds amazing live! I've had many people complimenting this thing saying it cracks like a gun shot! Overall, this snare is great and I highly recomend it.

The best of both worlds

I have used this drum numerous times in the studio recording with death metal to straight pop rock and even a country band as well. The drum can create any tone you need it's like all the engineers have said "it's the best of both worlds" it's right between wood and steel not too loud and not too tingy. you would be a fool not to have this drum for your recording arsenal.

I really do love this snare drum I would recommend it to anyone any day I am a gigging musician and I use this as my top snare it is easy to tune, it stays in tune and the sound is great it has an amazing crack just like that of a whip... This drum also has a great recording sound I use it every time you may want to change the head but I used the stock one for a while. Buy it and vent it like I did

High Voltage Snare Drum

I've had this snare for about a full year now, have not changed anything from how I originally recieved it, and it is still banging out high voltage, kick butt beats! The factory heads are still on there, and once broken in still sound sweet

Definitely wear ear plugs when around this one... this thing can crack!

Requires tuning (depending on how often you play) I would say about once after each session

Get it, it rocks the world

Bright and cutting

First off, it's acrylic. It's going to be loud. The inside 45 degree bearing edges provide lots of potential for efficient energy transfer from the head to the shell - it's got a sharp sound and a strong attack, yeah? I love this snare. It's a snare drum, it ought o have some ring to it. My setup: Aquarian high-performance snare side, Evans coated G2 up top, maple hoops from Drum Supply House and one moongel. I also put Puresound blaster wires on, and with some careful tuning it can cover a good range of sounds. This was actually my first acoustic snare when I switched form V-Drums, and I use it daily.
