Caveat emptor

Let the buyer beware on this one. Owned the Pintech trigger for less than three months and stopped working last night. I guess you get what you pay for with this line of Pintech products. I have no experience with their higher-end products.

I was looking to add one more cymbal to my Yamaha DT Express II and this did the job on a budget. I've had mine a year now, use it regularly for recording, and so far so good. I have the smallest one (cheapest and why pay more for the others ?); it's a little light, and at first it spun around a little when I'd hit it, until I adjusted the angle in such a way that balances it better. All in all these are nice and I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

great cymbal, but not for heavy hitters

This is a great cymbal for a basic single zone crash. It is actually the most responsive and has the best feel of all my e-cymbals (8 including Rolands and Harts. It is much quieter than the Harts and not so heavy and "dead" feeling as the Rolands. However, it IS NOT for heavy hitters. The trigger is right under the sticking area and will break quickly if you like to bash it! That said, Pintech has, hands down, the best customer service. I called them up and they mailed me a replacement trigger the same day, which was easy to replace....if you can handle a drum stick, you can handle changing this trigger. They give free replacements for the first year and $20 each after that. I am a Pintech convert now!

Cheap and Flimsy

I added one of these cymbals to my new Roland kit as a second ride cymbal, and I'm not impressed at all. The Roland CY8's are only a few dollars more, and worth the difference. The Pintech cymbal came to me in poor packaging, (a plastic bag), and is warped due to its construction. Their thin, plastic cymbals with absolutely no quality at all, and have horrible sticking feel! I'm selling this one on E-Bay and buying another Roland CY-8. Don't waste your time or cash on this cymbal, there's better ones out there

A superb trigger

I absolutely love these cymbal triggers. They are affordable, reliable, durable, and consistent. They don't rebound quite as well as other higher-priced triggers (including the pintechs), but they are great as triggers for crash cymbals and other percussion sounds. for the price, they simply can't be beat.
