I just ordered my second Nimrod so you know I'm very happy with mine. The trigger response is good and a very durable product as well. I'm a little troubled with the method of mounting this guy as well but what I do on my Roland TD-12 set is use the top of one of my vertical posts of my rack that sticks up a little on the front right part of my rack above the horizontal piece to mount the nimrod vertically. Has worked out well for me but I'm determined to find a better way. Any suggestions?

Okay I posted an earlier review stating this isn't velocity sensitive. I hooked it up another way and turns out, yes it has velocity !!! Hence I've upped my rating slightly. When connected with a mono cable, it is not velocity sensitive, but when I used an insert cable, for the Nimrod, plus another Pintech trigger cymbal (which people also believe has no velocity) and whalla, velocity on both. I just wish this thing came with a better clamp that could mount right on my rack so I didn't have to use the side of a cymbal stand.

I bought one of these to supplement my Yamaha DT Express II kit. I didn't expect a lot, knowing already it's not velocity sensitive, and wasn't disappointed. You need to play to it's strengths. I like velocity for ride cymbals, so I don't advise using it for them, with the exception of just using it for the bell sound, provided you don't have a multi zone cymbal pad that would cover this. It's good for additional percussion like cowbells, or an extra crash. I used a cheapo cymbal stand to mount mine on that wasn't quite the right size for the adapter (I tightened it as much as I could and still did not fit), so I had to improvise, making the mounting area a little wider by wrapping a little duct tape around the cymbal stand. I wouldn't hesitate on buying this product, it's good for the price, and doesn't take up much room in your setup.

I have two of these and have used them on my V-Drums for years. They have never let me down and they have taken a serious beating. They are perfect to add accessory licks to your set-up (cowbells, splashes, china crash). Solidly built with a terrific response.
