Pintech Electronic Snare

Bought this snare over two years ago and never had any trigger problems with it at all. You may have to adjust the lugs on occasion (like a real snare)although far less then a real snare and only if you are beating it to death. I added it to my Roland kit and far prefer it over any other pads as a snare as it has the look, size and feel of a real snare drum. Prior to buying it I was hesitant because I had never heard of Pintech. I happened to my mention it to a friend who has a home studio and is a successful award winning artist and he told he had a Pintech snare in his studio and it worked well for his drummers and that gave me the final push to buy it. I have tried most all pads and it would be hard to go back to a regular trigger pad. I like it, it works well and looks great.

I have no idea why this drum is getting low ratings. I have owned and played this drum for over a year with no problems. At first I was having mis-triggering and found the problem to be wrong settings on my TD8 module. You must fine tune your module, I think people overlook this. I will definitely buy another one for my second set I am building!

Unfortunately, I have not had much success with this product. The trigger mechanism either breaks off totally or floats around causing false triggers or ghost-notes. I have not been lucky enough to make it through more than three gigs without this product failing. Although, the Pintech support staff is very prompt and they have tried their best to assist me; I have retired the snare to collect dust in my basement because of its unreliability.

Solid construction, quick response and durability have been the keys for me. I have had the unit for several months and think that it can't be beat for the price. Had warranty work performed with Pintech in the past with a cymbal problem. Excellent response from the company, no nonsense, no problems. Would recommend this product to those of us that can not afford the Roland systems.

I had purchased a Pintech Concert Cast drumkit 3 yrs ago w/additional dual zone pads and the Picc. snare. I do play profeesionally on a local basis in western New York. The drum kit was good for the first 4 months, then the repairs started. After on repair was complete, another would soon follow. The repair cost was great , unfortunately, the turn around time was too slow in my opinion. I had sent my package SECOND DAY AIR (you think this would mean I need this back a.s.a.p?) - 14 days later my package was returned with a repair that lasted 1 month! - NOW, I can not even get a replacement head (mesh-woven) for it because PINTECH DOES NOT MAKE THE 13" Picc. snare anymore, so now I have to upgrade/purchase a whole new snare for $180.00!!! They have lost a customer. I purchased American, but we just can not compare to overseas quality and durability. Thank you for reading my "venstration".
