Pearl's SMX-924P 4-Piece Shell Pack packs more maple punch than ever with larger size toms for deeper sounds. The drum kits also includes improved lugs and tom arms, Optimount tom mounts, 2.3mm Superhoop II rims on toms, 2-ply tom heads, and Perimeter EQ bass heads. Includes 22" x 18" bass, 12" x 9" and 13" x 10" toms, 16" x 16" floor tom, 2 tom holders and 3 LG-40 floor tom legs. No cymbals included.

Simply add the snare drum of your choice to this powerful bass and tom pack for a complete setup. Recommended Pearl snares include the SMX-1455S Session Custom Maple, the SMX-1465S Session Custom Maple, and the Sensitone Custom Alloy.

All Session Series drums are formed using Pearl's exclusive Heat/Compression Shell Molding System that employs high temperatures and pressure to enhance strength and resonance. All Pearl shells feature overlapping seams with no gaps, this allowing the shells to vibrate uniformly, unencumbered by air pockets, for superior tone and sonic purity.

Session Series components all feature low-mass designed lugs and Masterworks-style rubber gaskets for enhanced unrestricted shell vibration providing even full-bodied tone. All mounted toms come equipped with our OptiMount suspension tom mounting system that removes the hardware components from the shell for increased resonance and sustain. Floor toms feature the R-40 Air Suspension rubber tips on all legs that act to "float" the drum to dramatically lengthen sustain for unrestricted bottom-end response The Session Series toms, and floor toms also feature SuperHoop II rims for accurate precise tuning and open tonal clarity.

Beautiful hi-gloss lacquer finishes feature fades and bursts on the SMX-924P allowing the rich maple grain to show through the finish.

This was an excellent purchase. I special ordered a 16' floor tom with Opti-mount, that got a little pricey but well worth the money! The way these shells resonate is unbelievable! A really warm tone with plenty of attack behind it. This kit will have people coming up to you wanting to know more about it and the compliments on appearance and sound will be overwhelming! I recomend the Pearl Ultracast 14 X 6.5 to complete this masterpiece. There will not be many other choices when comparing with this kit but you can try!!

Bought these 3 days ago. I've always had friends who own drums that I play on often, but I never owned any so I decided to ante up and buy some. They sound great even with the stock heads...tons of huge resonance and warm tone in the toms, and the kick doesn't even sound that bad right out of the box with the heads it comes with. I bought them in vintage fade and they looks gorgeous. Very nice mounting system...provided you're good at tuning, it'd be easy for anyone to get the sound mistaken for the Masters series drums. The best part is that it's affordable!

I've been using this kit for about... three years now. It has never let me down. I've used it for practices, recording, and live shows. I've got nothing but compliments from other drummers at shows -- usually they ask to use it for their set! The toms have a wonderful resonance that don't require any mufflers. The bass has a great thud when tuned down for rock -- but slides in perfectly when tuned up for jazz. I highly reccomend this set to anyone looking to upgrade from their first kit.

This is just a lame pair of drums!!! This drumset is just a waste of your time looking at it and a waste of your money!!! I rather bang on pots and trash cans.

I am a collector of many sets, and I bought this series when it debuted as the smx. Placed die cast hoops on it and there is no doubt in my mind that they sound just like the more expensive master and masterwork series. Whoever tells you otherwise cannot tune or cannot play, one or the other. Save the extra grand buying a name, and invest wisely in the sessions series. You will not be sorry.
