Good and Bad - But I Love It

First, the good news. This is a GREAT way to get a timbale into your drum set. It sounds great, the ultra shallow shell fits anywhere, and the tension rods tune with a drum key like your other drums rather than the wrench required for traditional timbales.

Now the bad news: I've owned this drum for three years, and last week two of the lugs sheared right off the drum! (And it was NOT overtightened!) What cheap crappy metal are they made of???!!!

Know what, though? I'm here at this site because I loved this drum so much I'm actually buying another one anyway! This thing is such a great addition to my kit that I'll buy a new one every three years if I have to!

I purchased this drum from M-F back in 2005.I have used it quite a few times since then.It is wonderful for reggae-type patterns as well as some of the surf music I play. The stock head will work if you don't use it too much-but I replaced it with a Remo Powerstroke batter and that seems to perform rather well. It also fits right on my Pearl rack system. Good product.

I have a set of pro timbs and have been carrying the 14" to reggae gigs along with a snare stand. Now I just have to clamp this 13" to my hi hat stand and I'm ready to go. This drum is heavy duty without being heavy. The mounting bracket/arm allows mounting at any height or angle. Definitely pleased with the purchase.

This is a good drum. She'll fit almost anywhere you want if you have the right hardware, and sounds great for a timbale That isn't Lp. Lp makes the best for sure, but if you wanna save money and add a new sound somewhere tight for space... Is this is what you want. The head that comes on it sounds just fine and the shell itself is A LOT shinier in person.

A cheap, good looking, good sounding alternative to investing a lot of money in a timbale set. There's not a single bad thing I can say about it. *My only complaint: Pearl includes instructions with it. I'm sorry but if you can't put together your own drums you're a lost cause.

I had always wanted one, so I finally found this one and didn't think twice! It was worth the wait. It is bright and loud. I love how this timbal sounds.
