I got the Carbon Vapor color for my b-day and I was blown away when I just opened the package. They have beautiful stainless steel rims and a really nice paint job. Playing them was an even more exiting experience! The heads right away were tuned the way I like them. Each head gives a perfect tone! Don't go for something more expensive. This is why Pearl has they're name stamped on there. Because they are awesome!

I got this set of bongos for Christmas. I am already a big fan of pearl, so I expected these to be a good buy. They were. I just got them for Christmas and I havent put them down yet. It took me a bit to get the larger head tuned, but I'm no expert, so I can't really tell. I have played around on some other bongos a bit, but this pair is definitely better than the ones I've played. Overall, this is a good buy, and at a good price.

These are very organic. The more they are played the more they come to life, with about a 10 hour break-in period before the little things begin to open up and the overtones start to chime. Fairly responsive to dynamics, each head allowing a half-dozen characteristic voices. These things weigh. They are Lethally heavy. Nice finish. Easy to tune.
