I got the 5.5 model in black sparkle fade. The hardware and the die cast hoops are great! It has a wide tuning range and the remo heads that come with it are good, i didn't even replace them. Quality is a 4 because it needs more depth in my opinion, so I wish I had gotten the 6.5 model

I just purchased this snare drum today, and no regrets. I was looking for something that could adapt to music ranging from a high pitch, pop, gospel tone to a big deep punchy rock tone and everything in between. If that your case, do consider this snare. You won't be disappointed!!!

Outstanding quality and craftsmanship! Every detail of this drum is perfect! The edges, finish and hardware. It came shipped with a Remo coated Ambassador and Remo Ambassador Snare side. I tuned it up and it's done! I've played Modern Rock, Classic Rock & Blues gigs with this drum, and it sounds great-It's got such a good tone-the right amount of crack and depth. The throw off is smooth and doesn't slip. Pearl does some of the finest diecast hoops I have ever seen. This drum is worth every cent I paid for it! I've owned my fair share of high end snare drums. This drum is as good and even better for far less money! Great job, Pearl!!!!
