This drum is a fantastic buy for anyone looking for the quintessential rock sound. The body is easy to control and does nothing to mask the booming attack on this drum. It sits exceedingly well in a track and is ultra responsive without being overbearing. I have no complaints about this drum, it's an instant classic.

Hey...I got this, tuned it high ( 89 batter, 86 reso via drum dial) and it is a cutting beast! Devastating rim shots. I'll play with it more, maybe try a wetter tuning and see if it really causes some structural damage. :) I'm not sure about these lock nuts, but they can be easily removed if they prove too much of a pain.

This snare is very much like a vintage Ludwig 402 (THE snare that made the vintage sounds of Deep Purple, Zeppelin, etc). It's just a fantastic snare--BUY IT!

I picked this baby up from a local music shop an i must say it is a great snare. Responsive, thick, and has an overall great tone. My only gripe is that for live purposes it just dosent cut through. Overall i'd say its a fantastic studio snare, but for live play i'd choose something else.

this snare is awesome. I use it in our jazz band at school. It gives a great rim shot for rock and is sensitive enough to play the lightest jazz. I would recommend it to anyone.

Expected a little more depth and bottom end than what it has, but have not used it to its full potential. Sounds good for recording purposes. Not a good snare for clip mounting microphones! Adjustment screws stick out too far. Works and sounds a lot better than my 5 1/2 x 14 wood snare by far!
