You really can get 4 distinct different sounds out of your kick drum with this beater. I've used mine that came with my Pearl double pedal a few years ago, and the felt is still in good shape. They are on the heavy side though, but that has not affected my playing of different styles of music at at all. Overall a good versatile beater at a price that might seem high, but it's really like getting 4 beaters in one.

This beater came with my Pearl double pedal several year ago, and I'm still using the original beaters. I've now worn one felt side down to where I get the sound of felt and some attack from the rubber on the sides. ha, ha It sounds great though.

Great beater, I belive that the price is a little high but that is the only reason that it recived a 9, overall it is a amazing beater.

Does give you a variety of sounds, but costs too much.
