This special Ride cymbal is the result of a collaboration between Paiste and Stewart Copeland, who inspired an entire generation of drummers with his unique playing style as the driving force behind The Police. The introduction of this ride cymbal coincides with the celebrated world-wide reunion tour of The Police.

The 22" Blue Bell Ride is based on the Signature 22" Dark Metal Ride, and was modified according to Stewart Copeland's exacting specifications. In the process, this development reintroduces Paiste's unique ColorSound coating, as the cymbal is coated partially blue on top and fully on the bottom.

The 22" Blue Bell Ride features a dry, slightly dark, raw and melodic sound. Its dominant characteristics include a clear, glassy ping and a distinctive strong, deep bell, in accordance with Stewart Copeland's Ride playing technique within the context of the music of The Police. As a tribute to Stewart's collaborative effort in the creation of this unique cymbal, the label "The Rhythmatist" and Stewart Copeland's "Rider" logo appear in conjunction with the model designation on the ride cymbal. Paiste's signature cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century. ColorSound is a proprietary coating for cymbals developed by Paiste in the 1980s, which optimizes the effect of a coating on cymbal sound and is extremely durable.

An arresting ride from the Police rhythmatist. Put the Blue Bell in your kit today!

It has very good stick definition, but it has a fairly high tone to it. It has more of ping to it. The Bell is amazing. If you're looking for a washey sound you're looking at the wrong cymbal. It has a very clean sound. If you play a lot of rudiments and rolls on your ride this would be a wise choice.

I've had this ride for about 3 months. I went from a really washy and long sustaining zildjian k ride to this beast. This ride is perfect for playing rock, metal, maybe pop, and definitely prog. The bell is MASSIVE. If you hit the bell with the shaft of your stick it explodes!!! If you are thinking of getting this ride, don't think...just buy.

This heavy ride from Paiste has very clear and cutting ping. The bell is solid with a very integrated sound. There is very little wash, so it's really best suited for rock music rather than jazz. I just added this to my set with other Paiste Signatures, and they sound great together. Plus, this one looks fantastic!

this ride i checked out at a local music shop along with a few other rides. this ride is somewhere around medium-heavy with a pretty nice stick definition. i liked it and brought it home and when i stuck in on the stand and played it with my set, it sounded great, but i also thought it sounded a bit dark and low. also, some of the "ping" sound washed out when i was playing it with drums. I'm also not a big fan of the bell. it's too powerful and thick for me and too piercing. also when i was taking home in the car, some of the white writing chipped of on the bottom side. it's a nice ride, but I'm gonna trade it in for a Sabian HHX dry ride.

I love this cymbal, the color is so unique and it matches my pearl drums perfectly. As far as the sound, of couse being that this is a Paiste Signature series cymbal, is amazing. A really strong bell and a really nice rock ride sound, it is obviously not for really light music. If you've got the money then this cymbal is worth it, because the only downside is the steep price.
