These high hats sound excellent. They are built thick and have a beautiful finish. Expect a very loud chick when closed and clean consistant wash when played open(given you don't overtighten the top hi hat). Even when played with just my hi hat pedal these hats are louder than my previous set played with sticks. These cymbals will make the intricacies of any hi hat rythm stand out, especially during rolls/accents. The bell sounds descent but nothing to die for. I recorded with these as well and was very pleased with their sound. Don't be scared by the price...If your serious about drumming you need good quality hi hats that can put out great sound and take a constant beating.

I have several pairs of hats and the ones that were most recently relegated to second string were my Zildjian A Mastersounds. I do love those A's but I needed a little more controlled "wash" from my loosely-open hat sound. The A's just blew up (sonicly) too fast. The answer: Paiste Signature Sound Edge hats :) These guys still have the stick definition and the brightness I like from the A's but stay uniform and controlled when playing loosely. I compared head to head about 8 top of the line kinds of hats and these gave me what I needed...

I just added a 13" pair of the Paiste Signature Sound Edge hats to my set-up, and I couldn't be happier. They really sizzle and are bright (if that's what you want), with a great chick and sloshy sound with the hats partly open. I also have a pair of the 13-1/4" Zildjian K Custom Hybrid hats, and these are comparable. Great for all kinds of music.

These cymbals are just what I was looking for. They are loud with a nice sizzle and chick. Great for loud rock music. They sound great for any type of music.

These hats are great. Really nice chick and a beautiful sizzle. Great open sound too. They're the best sounding cymbals out there and they make you want to play on them all of the time. My favorite cymbals of all time.
