I have several Paiste signiture cymbals and recently added the 18" fast crash to my line up. These cymbals have a crisp, clean, and distinct attack followed by a very clean wash. There are no sour overtones and these cymbals sound great soft or loud. You get what you pay for and these cymbals deliver one of the best sounds in percussion.

Rock on!

This is beyond studio quality, the who line of signature series are just mind blowing, they are absolutely perfect in every way. The fast crash is prefect for a full, dark, and controlled professional sound, this cymbal is worth every penny, ideal for drummers doing studio work.

Great all-around cymbal

I use the Paiste Signature 18" fast crash as my main crash, and it fits great whether using it for rock, jazz, blues, or R&B. Like other Paiste Signature crashes, it opens up well whether playing hard or soft, and has just the right amount of decay and shimmer. I've also used it (albeit sparingly) as a light ride, and it sounds nice and silvery for that, too. Like all Sigs, expensive, but worth every penny.

I still have a full setup of Zildjian "A"s, but the Paiste Signature series is my go to cymbals. The 16" fast crash was the one that strted my paiste love affair but I have since collected a full setup.

The right tool for the job

I needed a quick, dry, full voice on my kit to complement my 21 K Custom Special Dry Ride, and choce an 18" Signature Fast Crash. It's my first Paiste, and the Mrs thought it was great on the first strike. I'm primarily a jazz/blues/Oldies player, and don't need to cut through Marshall stacks with no miking. As to the naysayers on this cymbal, yes Paistes are terrific-looking plates. But you need to use the right tool--properly--for the job. This is NOT a basher cymbal; it's a thin one, designed for an acoustic accent. I agree A or Z Customs are great when you need to shake up your bass player, and want to whale on the bronze. But for jazz, oldies, and other uses requiring a musical tone, the Paiste Signatures are superb, and will last within the uses for which they are designed.
