I baught this cymbal like others to fill a void of sorts, I have Sabian Vault and AAX Crashes also so I grabbed the 18 inch pst5 thin crash, let me tell you I find myself using this cymbal alot more than the others as a "main" crash following a drum fill, its an extremely pleasing sounding cymbal, very profesional sound and the 18 in my opinion is the perfct size. You will love this cymbal trust me! Blues, Classic Rock or anything else its a fantastoc cymbal for the price and I dont think any other company has a "budget" cymbal that can even come close! If you only get one go for the 18 inch its just so versatile ! I would have no problem outfitting my whole kit with these, there that good. I just ordered the 16 to give it a try, I do wish they had a 19 and 20 even a 17 in the series but even still this is the best buy in a crash cymbal I have ever seen and no one will notice at all what you paid, certainly not by the sound! good job paiste awesome cymbal! From a Sabian guy!

I bought this to replace the junk cymbals that come with a set when you buy it. Im not usually a drummer, but i needed a decent drum kit for practicing at my house with a band, or just to jam on. It has been through every type of drummer you can think of. heavy rock balads to jazz to hardcore metal. It sounded beautiful throughout all of them. My friend who has only ever used zildjan A customs played on it and said that they actually soound almost as good as his A custom....and i didnt tell him until after that i paid about a quarter of the price. they even sound great when mic'ed and recorded. so i went out and bouth an 18" medium, and loved that too. hopefully i will switch my ride to one too as i am satisfyed with my hi hats

Good look for an inexpensive cymbal

I ordered the Paiste PST 5 18" thin crash as an inexpensive way to occasionally fill a pitch gap between two A Customs after comparing them on their websites. The quality was as good as any of the cymbals in this price range but the appearance is much better. The pitch is very high in comparison though. It's even higher than the Paiste website demos it. The 18" was about the same pitch as my 15" A Custom. So I couldn't use it and returned it. I had a set of B8s several years back and they don't look as good to me but I liked the sound and feel much better. Just a matter of personal taste among cymbals in this price range I guess.

i own the paiste 16inch pst 5 thin crash. it is by far the best cymbal i have ever purchased. in my opinion it sounds better then most cymbals that cost twice as much. i am a heavy hitter and i cracked it after months of heavy abuse but it still has most of its great sound. im currently buying the full line of pst 5 thin crashes for recordings. and i will be using all paiste cymbals on my set from now on

this is the best cymbal for the price. i recommend anyone to buy this

Just bought it and tried it out. Sounds great. We'll see how it holds up to punishment. Product was packed badly. No packing material for cushioning, just thrown in a box and shipped it. They arrived unbroken, but come on. Still best deal out there.
