These hats are really great, I have the 14". I got these to use with my jazz set and they work great. They sound very similar to my Zildjian New Beats, but a little darker and dirtier. They have a defined sound with a stick that has enough cut for playing with a band. The chick is nice and solid. It is also darker than most others I've heard, almost more like a 'chuck' sound. I definitely recommend these if you are looking for something a little less modern and bright than most hi hats being produced today. To me these are even darker than a pair of K custom dark hats I play on frequently.
