8 Inches

A very thin, warm splash, somewhat soft in nature. Sound spectrum opens nicely, even with a light stroke. Washy and lively with short sustain.

Made with CuSn8 bronze for a bright, warm, and energetic tone. Great for live and studio gigs requiring high energy and the utmost in precision and musicality. Heavier models have been added to round out the original classic series by providing increased volume.

This is an awesome splash. I've had the 8" one for 3 or 4 years and loved every moment of it. Be careful about the stand you put it on. Mine got knocked over last night and it got a giant fold. Now I'm buying a new one. Awesome cymbal!

Hi everyone. I wanted to expand my range of cymbals from my traditional K's (hats/a crash/a ride), so I went to check out the Paiste Prototype 2 for 1 deal. I tried out some cymbals, la di dah, and then hit this baby...WOW! It was a 12" Prototype Splash. It sounded so musical and dark with a nice sustain. I checked it over and saw it was a 2oo2 model (the prototypes are from Twenty, 2oo2, and Sig.). It is paper thin, but it has not showed any wear as of now from my 5A/5B sticks. The only tiny flaw is the bell, but who wants a nice bell on a splash anyways? Overall, definitely a great buy IMO. For the 2-1 deal I ended up buying also a 16" Trash Crash (a really cool dark cymbal and the bell sounds like a china :P) so this splash was free :D I highly recommend this cymbal. Thanks Paiste!

Clean and nice sounds

Bought this little 10 gem in New York on a school study trip thingy because it probably was the only cymbal size that would fit in my luggage.

The price is very nice for what you get, a really slicing but big sound in many ways, it kind of fades along with other cymbals without cutting too much through the rest of the cymbals, it has a more subtle but nice character in my setup. I use it for crashing and I`ll try to describe the sound, it cuts a bit but the sound kind of grows like a triangle pointing up and thats where the "big" sound comes, the nice warm and glassy sounds grow a bit before they nicely fade out, just beautiful.

I hope that my AAX and HHX Sabians won`t discriminate against my Paiste for being Swiss because I have a soft spot for this splash (the only "non" Sabian cymbal in my setup) and will keep this as long as it lasts.

I love this splash. It blends with anything, and can be used in all situations. I absolutely would recommend this over any other splash.

Excellent All-Purpose Splash

I purchased the 12" and I am very pleased. It's definitely warm, bright and a clean sound. I also have a couple Paiste Dimensions splashes and I prefer the 2002. The Dimensions are described as dark, dirty mix, slightly complex and they are! If you like that sound, go with them, but for more general purpose rock splash sound, go with the 2002. I haven't had any 2002 cymbal I didn't really like, it's a solid line. As far as price and value, as you know, quality cymbals cost so it's a good value within the same quality range of splashes if you're willing to cough up the dough.
