Well, I took a trip out to Iowa to see family before easter, and I thought i would take a look at the music store. So I went in and found the drum section and the 1st thing I saw was this amazing looking 6- Peice avalon set up and ready to play. At first I was a little unsure but when I sat down to play it, I was very pleased. Honestly it doesnt sound that great for a maple kit, but for 1 grand, it sounds perfect. My favorite drum had to be the bass, it sounded like a cannon. The toms were tuned very well in key but they had a different snare set up.
Overall, looking for a cheap quality kit with some booming bass? I think you found it.

I have been playing tama, pearl gretch and many other drums for 30 years. These are the best freaking drums on the market I bought mine yesterday right out of the box they are ready to go. The maple shells are warm and have remo heads on them. Before you change the heads use a moon gel on the snare and 16 floor the heads got a overtone this will stop that. When you get new ones it will make a difference. the bass drum is a canon and has wonderfull attack. The ride and 14 floor are warm and punchy to cut through anything. If you are looking for the best drums for your money look no futher orange county is it.

I have been playing drums for 30 years and own 12 drums kits. Just got the kit a few days ago. Very impressed with looks of the kit! Appears like it should cost twice as much. It will turn heads!! The color is much deep/darker sparkle than pics show. Really has a custom look to it, then add the black chrome Hardware. WOW!!!!
I unpacked the kit to find most drums had bearing edges dinged up. Probably from manufacturing process. Maple shells are a very low grade maple, not even close to a Sonor,DW,Pearl Maple. The bass drum hoops are too small and do not seat tight against head. My 14" floor resonant side wood plie is cracked. Heads are a two plie no-name and are almost impossible to tune.
If you want to look like the bad ass at the show this is the kit for you!!! 6 piece OCDP for a grand? What would you expect. If your experienced and looking for QUALITY spend more $$$$$$$

So I just bought this set about a week ago and just wow, this set is amazing. The 6 ply toms really sing and have a nice warm tone to them. The Bass Drum seriously sounds like a cannon, it sounds great! The snare is absolutely amazing, you get a high snap and quick response out of it. This set plus a nice 20" Ziljian A Custom ping ride, makes this a great set! 10 out of 10, Highly recommended.

I had never heard of OCDP and for almost all of my 28 years as a drummer I have been a die hard TAMA guy. Until I bought these drums. The finish on this kit is flawless. (Only wish that OCDP made and coated all their bass drum hoops like the Newport Series)
The snare has that perfect "snap" without the overtones that many snares have. The toms punch through like thunder and the 22 X 20 kick...this thing will punch your audience right in the face!
I love the look of the "offset" lugs on the shells and with all the hardware being brushed nickle, well this just adds to the power of this kit.
Do not let this one get away! OCDP thanks for the Avalon Series Kit. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next.
