When I first shook the Sparkle shaker my reaction was "you've got to be kidding - it's so quiet I have to hold it up to my ear to hear it." However, when I played it thru the sound system at church the audience had no trouble hearing it, and people commented on its unique sound. It sounds a bit like very quiet jingle bells, but if you grip it tightly it makes more of a soft shaker kind of sound, and if you spin it in a tight circle it makes a nice sound to end a song with. It's good for when a song needs a delicate, almost subliminal sound. It works good when used in combination with another shaker also.
