So I got these as a christmas present almost a year ago...eleven months of nearly every day practice and ten live shows. The crash is passible but it has started to get a crack. However the minor flaw doesn't hamper the sound. The ride is beautiful. exactly the sound I look for. I find myself using it as a second crash because I like the sound so much. buch better than the zildijan zbt of the same size I also use. However at the first show some drunk got on stage and spilled beer on it. now it has a bit of a rust stain. oh well. The high hats are awesome and blow the no name hi hats I had before out of the water. I'm probably going with saiban to replace the crash but a very good starter or even step-up set

Ive had these cymbals for about 9 months, and so far they have done me good. i got them as my first set. the hats have a slower attack. but have good sound. the crash, like the hats, is kinda soft. but the ride has a heavy tone, but reacts with the tip of the stick. Worth the beginners money.

These cymbals are perfect practice cymbals. But they don't go beyond that. Their ringy sound is pretty ugly, so therefore they are just basic cymbals. The high hat doesnt sound too great and neither does the crash. The ride sounds ok, but I would suggest buying cymbals made out of bronze when you get better. The best cymbals in my book are the dark cymbals. Go for a zildjian dark ride or a hybrid ride if you want a good sound from a ride.

I know this review is kind of weird, cause everyone else seems to love these cymbals so much. I bought these as my first set of cymbals to go with my original sound percussion set.

First off, the hi-hats. They have an ugly sort of "clunk" sound when played closed, and a weird ringy sound when played open. I don't know why. Also, they seem to sound different every time I hit them, even in the same spot.

The ride cymbal is really good, surprisingly. The bell has a neat "ping" noise, and the edges make a sort of "teng" noise. Definitely the best of the three.

The crash is the worst. I don't know why, but I really dislike how it sounds- very tinny and annoying. It also is hard to roll on or crescendo.

Overall, I guess this review is kinda negative. I HIGHLY recommend saving up an extra $50-100 and buying a sabian b8, paiste bronze or zildjian ZBT/ZHT pack instead- remember that these Meinls in this pack are made of brass, so they will not sound as good as the bronzes. Even better, if you plan on going pro or semi-pro, go for a b20 sabian cymbal or two.

These cymbals are great. Ride cymbal has great ping and the Hi-Hats have a great chic sound to them. The Crash is the least favorite, but it has seemed to get better with time. I am very happy I bought these cymbals! Get them now!
