A snare for drum warriors.

The Mapex special edition Black Panther etched stainless steel snare drum was inspired by the ancient Chinese martial art of Kung Fu. The 5-1/2" x 14" snare drum has a 1mm stainless-steel shell that has been black chrome-plated and then etched with graphics representing the various disciplines of the art of Kung Fu.

The seven symbols that surround the Mapex drum represent the arsenal of Kung Fu weaponry: spear, hammer, wand, knife, fist, sword, and bow. In addition to the ornamental steel etching, the batter head of the drum is also emblazoned with the symbols of Kung Fu and the Chinese symbol for black panther in red.

A semi-rigid, padded Black Panther carrying case is included.

The art of Kung Fu, like the art of drumming, requires discipline, concentration and practice in order to become a master. Kung fu black panther is an excellent snare. I bought it because visually like it, but now am in love with it, has the nicest crack I have ever heard, great rim shot. I have a few snares like the Valkyrie of warlord tama collection, black beauty and a Birdseye's maple from black panther and the snares that always call my attention are black panthers. This one stock head is a quality one, the throw off is great, the stainless steel shell it has such a great resonance, buy it you won't regret instead you'll love it.

okay, i have to say the price on the snare was a little over the top, you get to the point sometimes where you're only buying the snare not the sound. but put aside the price and you've got yourself the best freakin snare i've ever heard. basicly, get it if you can afford the price.
