The drum shells feature Mapex's I.T.S. Mounting System in a commitment to the theory of less is more. The mount is compact to enhance overall drum response by mounting to the lug casings for less drum shell contact. The Mapex drum mount also enables you to change drumheads while the tom is still mounted to the tom holder.

The included tom holders are light with little bulk, offering a sleek look and less of a load. The corner friendly double tom mounts have a middle cymbal arm position (not included) for fewer tripod stands on the floor. The stands feature form-fitting memory locks, designed to fit the bottom contour of the mounting bracket to eliminate slipping for quick and easy setup night after night.

Great Kit

I traded in my roland TD-9s locally straight acrossed for this kit and definately feel as though I got the better deal. This kit has a great sound, and spectacular finish. As the last reviewer stated the pictures don't do them justice. I bought mine in honey amber and absolutely love the finish. The sound is great and was just the right sound I was looking for. I actually like this kit better than the mapex saturn that I had sold 6 months ago. I'd love to add on another 10" tom and another floor tom to this kit to make it my dream kit. After I tuned up the kit I fell in love with the sound. The snare sounded great, and the toms just as good. I did use a little bit of padding in the bass drum but only because I kept the stock skin for it. I imagine with something like the EMAD2 I would get just the sound I wanted without padding.

I got these about a week ago and absolutely love them. I got these as an upgrade from a Tama Swingstar. The finish on these is spectacular, photos will never do it justice. Hardware is simply bulletproof. Haven't changed the heads(they come with Remo's), but I did throw some tone rings on and made a world of difference. Definetely a pro quality kit, can't go wrong with these. Great price to match. And I love the rich deep tone of the birch. Would like to add a 10" tom soon. Don't think these drums will disappoint.
