I receved this kit on christmas of 2007. awsome quality, the snare is loud, and just awsome. The toms are warm and can produce alot of sound. The birch gives the toms a good warm sound. I reccomond remo coated Ammbassador on the snare, and Remo Pinstripes or Evans EC2 clears on the toms. The bass drum is loud and has a PHAT sound. It sounds good with the factory head. And is breathtaking with and AQUARIAN SUPER KICK 2. This kit has the quality of brands like DW, without the price.

This has to be the best drum set I've ever played, and I'm not just saying that because I own it. The hardware is amazing, you can convert the boom stands to straight stands if you want and it has memorylock so once you have it set it's good to go. The bass drum delivers a great kick and the toms and snare project extremely well with a crisp sound. The heads are factory heads but fortunetly they are indeed Remo heads. Buy this set, you won't play any other.

A great set, the finishes are all nice, the hardware holds up, and most importantly they sound great. The tone is nice, it doesn't sustain much but the punch is huge, the power of birch. I bought the set about a week ago and I'm really impressed so far, I haven't found a single thing about it that I dislike. I guess all that really needs to be said is that its an all around great intermediate set that is well worth the money.

You can have some beater for your practice kit. This will suddenly turn into your main and it won't break the bank. Quality woods, beautiful finish. Definitely much better than any "intermediate/mid-level" kit you will ever find. Tasty snare, thunderous bass drum. Of course, Mapex isn't known for heads, but you can still obtain a decent sound with the ones included. Outfit this kit with some cymbals and get on the road. Great for recording or live. Huge projection!

Great kit all together. The looks are great and sound is what I was looking for. It's definitely a fusion set with a high end sound. The toms are piercing with great projection. Snare is crisp and the bass drum is deep and loud.
