I have had this snare for about a week now. I look forward to playing it every day. It has a deep snare bed with thick plies of maple to deliver a deep warm sound that still cuts through everything. I have it tuned up moderately high right now, but I am also able to tune it low to however I feel. I actually have the "thick flamed maple" edition of this drum. This drum is great for playing live - especially when it is miced up...sounds amazzzzzing. The rim shots sound great. Just be sure to change the heads on it and you will have the best sounding snare drum your ears have heard!
