I ordered a classic maple kit after selling my Rogers kit with Dynasonic snare(original owner from late 60's). The Ludwigs are great sounding, look great, and the hardware is excellent. I ordered an 8x12 tt; 14x14 ft; 16x16 ft with a 14x22 bd, 5x14 maple snare (LS401TM) and a supraphonic (LM400KTM. this kit rocks; big sound, cool look, great value for the money

Just switched to Ludwig after playing an excellent Japanese drum (3 kits) for over 30 years. These are lighter, and much more "vintage jazz" sounding than what I am used to. As I had plenty of hardware and only ordered a shell pack, I cannot evaluate the Ludwig hardware. I have the bebop sizes and they are far more flexible than you might think. I am not muffling, so there is plenty of sound. The older I get, the more I like an 18 inch bass drum, especially in a stairwell. These are great drums at a fair price. Good job, Ludwig. .

I got this set at a local music store because it was marked wrong, but if I had the cash I would still pay the money that it's worth. It's a perfect setup for me. Sounds amazing and is a great set for experienced players that want that good looking set.

This drum set was everything I wanted and more. The response on all the drums (including kick) is out of control. The first day I had it I was playing faster and more precise than ever. Also, if you want a great vintage sound, Ludwig's the way to go. I have this kit paired up with a Zildjian K Custom Dark Ride and Hi-Hats and it sounds like I'm playing on a '50s James Brown album. It's also good for jazz. Definitely recommend this to someone looking for a great vintage sounding kit.

Enjoy vintage sounds with modern quality. This drum kit has amazing sustain and tone. I've owned it for 2 years and it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. If you want to hear what it sounds like, search for Bronze Fawn in google and you'll hear our new album featuring this exact kit. I miked the top and bottom of the toms and snare (remember to reverse the polarity on the bottom mikes) and used an SM91A in front of the kick. Don't cut a hole in the front head if you want that phat bonham/808 bass sound. Enjoy!
