I bought this set of drums in May 2009 My configration is the rock version.With 12'13"16'14"Snare and the 22"x18" kick. It is in a gorgeours blue wood grain that is just incredible.And a discontinued line. And i was lucky enough to recently buy the matching 18"x16" floor tom and WOW does it rock.Great depth to this floor tom and bass drum like a cannon. The toms are all great new remo pinstrips all around and your set.Whats really nice is the bass drum has 10 Lugs most other kits only have 8. And the snare is also 10 lug. Great sounding drums!! Matched up with some fine Zildgian A's and your set. Great buy for great drums.

I have had this drum set almost a year now and it has been nothing less than awesome. The toms on this thing are amazing and you can't help but become a better tom player because they just sound so great. My favorite is the floor tom which compliments the bass so well. Heads sets are hard to come by though (10'12'&16') is a little bit unusual but doesn't really matter because they sound great. Mounting system for toms is great, ball system to adjust them takes some getting use to, once you figure it out though you can make it do what you want quickly, and has memory locks so quick to dismantle and put them back the way they were. The snare is pretty good, i am not as siked about it as the toms, but i think it is because I havent really found the right head to go with it, probably needs something a little wetter since the birch tends to dry out sound. Right now i am using a snare I found at a yard sale, if it sounds better, it sounds better. Bass is killer - put a EMAD2 on it, and it will THUMP. Hardware is super sturdy. I read tons of reviews before I bought this set because I didn't want to be dissappointed, and I am completely happy with this drum set, really have to nitpick to find stuff that I don't like about it. 5 Stars all the way.

I have had this kit for a month now and have had very little trouble with it. Toms are somewhat hard to set where you want them and the heads are not very good. The Bass drum even with the original head really thumps and the the toms, if you put Remo Clear Pinstripes on them, really sing! The snare is actually very good if you put a RemO's ring on it. It has a good crack without the overtones. The hardware that comes with it is all very sturdy. You won't get a better kit for the price and Ludwig is a quality product.

I have played about 15 different sets, (of all brands)since i have been playing drums. (about 6 years) This set by far is the best, the toms are amazing, and they go perfect with the amazing deep base drum. The hardware can withstand anything, the snare is pretty good too, but im thinking of replacing it with a Pork Pie little squealer snare. The heads were good. But i replaced all of them. This set if awsome. GET IT!!!!

i got this drumset because i wanted an upgrade from my crappy first act drumset. this set is awesome! i love the tom sizes and they are really easy to tune. if you tune the snare high it will ring like crazy but just tape toilet papaer on it to eliminate the ring. this set has EVERYTHING except cymbals which was perfect for me since i already have cymbals. the bass sounds great even without a blanket. i got it in green fade and it looks amazing! it looks really proffesional. i reccomend this drumset to any and all
